Meta security checkpoint is blocking ad creation
Updated Jul 5, 20261 min read
Occasionally Meta shows a security checkpoint, which is an extra identity or security step that temporarily blocks actions on your ad account. When that happens, Mark cannot create or change ads until you clear it, because Meta is holding the account.
Why it happens
Meta uses checkpoints as a safeguard, often on newer accounts or after unusual activity. It is not a Mark error. Mark simply cannot act while Meta has paused the account for review.
How to resolve it
- Open Facebook or Meta Business Suite using the same profile you connected to Mark.
- Look for a security prompt or notification, and complete the requested step. This might be confirming your identity, reviewing recent activity, or accepting terms.
- Once Meta clears the checkpoint, return to Mark and try the action again.
If checkpoints keep appearing, it is worth reviewing your account status in Meta Business settings, since repeated ones can point to a broader account issue that only Meta can resolve.
