Why isn't my ad spending or delivering?

Updated Jul 5, 20261 min read

An ad can be switched on and still not spend. Being active is not the same as delivering. Work through the usual causes in order.

Check these first

  • Still in review. New ads are reviewed by Meta, usually within 24 hours, before they run.
  • A parent is paused. If the campaign or ad set is paused, the ad will not deliver even if it is on.
  • Future start date. Check the schedule in case delivery has not begun yet.

Then check delivery settings

  • Audience too small. Very narrow targeting can starve delivery, because there are not enough people to reach.
  • Budget too low. A tiny budget may not win auctions against other advertisers.
  • Account spending limit. New ad accounts have low limits that lift as you build history with Meta.

Work down that list in Manage Ads, or simply ask Mark to check the campaign for you and it will point to the likely cause.
