Do I need a Facebook Business Manager and admin access?

Updated Jul 5, 20261 min read

To manage ads properly, you need admin access to a Meta ad account, and your assets should live in Meta Business settings, also known as Business Manager. This is simply how Meta organizes business assets and the permissions around them.

Why admin access matters

With admin access, Mark can create campaigns, use your Pages and pixels, and pull performance data. With a more limited role, some of these can be missing or blocked, which is the usual reason something does not appear or an action fails.

What sits in Business Manager

Your ad account, your Page, and your pixel should all be inside Business settings. When they are, and your profile has an admin role, everything connects smoothly.

If you are not sure

Check your role in Meta Business settings. If you do not own the business assets, ask whoever does to give your profile an admin role. That one change resolves most access problems before they start.
