What permissions does Mark ask for, and why?

Updated Jul 5, 20261 min read

When you connect with Facebook, Meta asks you to approve a set of permissions. Each one maps to something Mark needs in order to do the work you ask for.

What Mark requests

  • Ads management, so it can create and edit campaigns, ad sets, and ads for you.
  • Pages, so it can run ads from your Facebook and Instagram Page and set up lead forms.
  • Business data, meaning your ad accounts, audiences, pixels, and catalogs, so Mark can use them when building.

How your access is protected

Mark only uses this access to carry out your requests. A few safeguards are worth knowing:

  • Your Meta login credentials are never shared with Mark. The connection uses Meta's secure OAuth flow.
  • Your access token is encrypted at rest, and it is kept only until you disconnect or delete your account.
  • You can disconnect any time from Integrations, which revokes Mark's access and clears your Facebook data from its systems.

In short, Mark asks for what it needs to manage your ads, and nothing it does happens without the permissions you granted.
