Why are my campaigns created paused?

Updated Jul 5, 20261 min read

Every campaign, ad set, and ad Mark builds is created paused on purpose. Paused means it exists in your account but is not delivering and is not spending.

What this gives you

This gives you a chance to review everything before a single cent is spent. You can check the budget, the schedule, the audience, and the creative, and make any changes you want. When it all looks right, you turn it on from Manage Ads.

Part of staying in control

Creating things paused is one of the ways Mark keeps you in control. Nothing goes live until you say so, which means an ad can never start spending by surprise. Combined with Mark confirming changes before it makes them, you always have the final say.

If you would rather a campaign start delivering, just turn it on. If you are not ready, leave it paused as long as you like.
