Turn campaigns, ad sets, and ads on or off

Updated Jul 5, 20261 min read

You control delivery with a simple on and off switch at each level: campaign, ad set, and ad. This gives you fine-grained control over what runs.

How it works

  • Turn on to start delivery. You can turn on a campaign together with its ad sets and ads, or activate just part of it.
  • Turn off, or pause, to stop delivery immediately. Paused items do not spend.
  • Remember that the whole path has to be active. If a parent is paused, its children will not run even if they are turned on individually.

Pause versus delete

Pausing is how you stop something in Mark. There is no delete option, which is a deliberate safety choice: a stopped campaign is never lost, and you can turn it back on later without rebuilding it. In practice, pausing does everything deleting would, since the ad stops running and stops spending.

Two ways to do it

Toggle status directly in Manage Ads, or simply ask Mark in chat, for example "pause my summer campaign." Either way, the change takes effect right away.

If an ad is not delivering even though it is turned on, check that its ad set and campaign are also on. A paused parent is the most common reason.
